Last dictator in Europe continues repressions for European March

Democratic activist Paval Yuhnevich was sentenced today to 15 days of arrest by Minsk Central District Court. Only yesterday the activist left the special prison facility in Akrestin Street, where he had spent 7 days of arrest for European March organization, and he was convicted under two articles of the Administrative Code. Judge Liudmila Savastyan gave sentence.

Paval Yuhnevich was to be released from the special prison facility in Akrestin Street yesterday. But a militia car came for him in the special prison and the oppositionist was guarded to Minsk Central District Internal Affairs Department. There, yet 22 August, a report was drawn up against him for allegedly “using obscene language”. Indeed, Yuhnevich was detained on that day together with 50 spectators and actors of the “Free Theatre” at performance of Edward Bond’s play ”11 Shirts’’. The spectators and actors were released, but the militiamen draw up a fabricated report against the youth activist.

Yesterday Yuhnevich was given a request of summon for 11.00 a.m. 19 October. According to the law the activist should have been released. In order not to do so, another report was drawn up against him. Allegedly, for obscene language, too.

The evidence of OMON soldiers is height of cynicism. They said Yuhnevich used obscene language when he was walking along Kulman Street 18 October. But the oppositionist was not set free even for a moment – he was other in the special prison, or in the militia car, or in District Internal Affairs Department all the time!

Here are the surnames of the people who have perjured in court: OMON soldiers Khalamau and Lemantovich, district militia officer of Central District Internal Affairs Department captain Halanau, Central District Internal Affairs Department member Kislou.
