Entrepreneurs are to take part in Day of Health instead of a meeting

Vitsiebsk municipal committee rejected the application for a protest meeting on October 29 launched by Vitsiebsk entrepreneurs, assistant chairperson of republican public association “Perspective” Anatol Shapavalau told BelaPAN.

Action participants (not less than 500 entrepreneurs, according to the organizers) planned to draw the attention of the city administration to the problems of minor business. In the application they named the place authorized by the municipal officials - the park n.a. 30th anniversary of VLKSM.

“In reply to our second application for the meeting, we have received a letter signed by Vitsiebsk municipal committee assistant chairperson Paval Losich. According to the letter, public sport events are to take place in the park n.a. 30th anniversary of VLKSM within the city feast “Day of Health.” That is why again we weren’t allowed to hold the meeting,” A.Shapavalau said.

Assistant chairperson of “Perspective” says entrepreneurs can participate in the Day of Health. “Anyway, we will come there for sure, and if sport events are held there, we shall take part. Why not? Entrepreneurs must be healthy, we have no objections against the events promoting healthy life style,” A.Shapavalau added.

The first application for the meeting was given on September 24. In reply, Vitsiebsk entrepreneurs received a letter signed by Vitsiebsk municipal committee assistant chairperson Uladzimir Yaravikou, neither authorizing nor declining the application. The letter said, the meeting must be agreed with the police, ambulance and housing services. Nevertheless, the organizers didn’t manage to meet the requirements announced 3 days before the planned meeting.
