Brest City Executive Committee: “We shall remove all satellite antennas”

11:24, — society

A law-abiding Brest dweller decided to obtain approval of officials for a satellite antenna installation. He has received a threatening but baseless answer.

In the letter from Brest city executive committee to Uladzimir Rohau it is stated that during reconstruction of the central streets of the city satellite antennas installed on the facades earlier, will be dismantled. And all those who would like to install new satellite dishes, will be fined 300,000 Brb or more, BulletinOnline.org informs.

- We really shall dismantle all antennas from houses’ facades. It’s our firm position, -- confirmed the deputy chairman of Brest city executive committee V. Kavalchuk.

It is worth mentioning that this position of the authorities is not confirmed by regulatory documents. So far there is no single document which regulates installation of satellite antennas. And the present procedure envisages elaboration of individual design documents.

That is why the authorities do not acclaim such law-abiding citizens like Uladzimir Rohau. It is easier to adopt a laissez-faire attitude, and later tell that the dish has been installed with violation of rules, that is why it should be removed.

As we have informed, in a number of regions local authorities are offering citizens cable TV instead of satellite antennas.
