Applicant for Social March Detained

Today morning one of the applicants for holding the Social March, a youth leader Mikhail Pashkevich, and activists Dzmitry Kavalgin and Mikalay Serhienka have been detained. At 7.12 a.m. a short message was received from Pashkevich. The place and the reason of detention wasn’t stated in the message. There was no news from Mikhail since then.
As the Charter’97 press-center has found out, the detainees are in the police department of Minsk metro. They are to be taken to the court of Kastrychnitski district of Minsk.
As we have informed, the Social March is to take place on November 4.
