Political prisoner Artur Finkevich Faces 3 Years of Colony

A young activist Artur Finkevich has spent about a month in a remand prison in Mahilyou. Another criminal case has been initiated against him. “The investigation of the case has finished. Artur has been acquainted with it. Now the case has been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office, and in a few days it would be taken to court,” the lawyer Hanna Rybalka has told to Radio Svaboda.

The guy faces a maximum sentence of three years of the colony.

The investigator Alyaksandr Liskavets, who was in charge of Artur Finkevich, declined to comment.

As we have informed, Artur Finkevich, who served the sentence of the correctional labour in the special settlement in Maholyou region, was detained on October 26. The activist was charged with violation of the regime of the sentence serving.

What are the conditions where the prisoner is held? According to the activist Kasya Halitskaya, Artur Finkevich does not complain. As before, he is in a cell together with six persons. Food is normal there, and he receives correspondence.

The activist has told his address:

“It is possible to write letters to him. Letters are received by him. And as far as I know, little parcels are allowed. His address is: Mogilev (Mahilyou), Krupskaja Street 9-a, remand prison No. 9,” Kasya Halitskaya said.

The first sentence was received by Artur Finkevich for making political graffiti “Fed up with him!” and “We want a new one!”

Artur Finkevich still has to serve a month and a half in the correctional labour facility. He has been punished for alleged violation of the regime several times. The activist didn’t agree with some of the punishments, but failed to controvert them.
