Euro disappeared from exchange offices. People have to visit some exchange offices to find euro and buy currency by small (10-20 euro) sums. Huge queues can be observed near the rare offices which have euro.
Independent experts explain the keen demand on euro not so much by dollar instability as by total instable situation in the country. In conditions of huge credit balance of foreign trade, permanent price rise on basic products and goods, rising costs of utility bills, coming from 2008 price hike of Russian energy resources, the majority of population distrust the national currency.
