Lukashenka’s ideologist sentenced to 8 years of seizure of property

On Friday the Supreme Court of Belarus has pronounced sentence in the case of the former first deputy head of the Chief Ideology department of the presidential administration of Belarus Uladzimir Kholad.
The sentence was read by the press-secretary of the Supreme Court Nastassya Tsymanovich. The Supreme Court has found U. Kholad guilty of obtaining by deception, and of multiple incitement to a bribe. He has been sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment and seizure of property, Interfax informs.
Besides, the court has applied a ban to take positions connected with administrative and executive functions for 5 years, and deprived of military rank.
As we have informed, Uladzimir Kholad was detained on June 30 this year. The trial was held behind the closed doors.
