The registering bodies note higher demand 5 days before the deadline for application for re-registration of individual entrepreneurs to unitary enterprises on attractive terms. But the experts think the tendency of last weeks doesn’t change the total reaction of the entrepreneurs to the state policy - the majority of individual entrepreneurs will ignore the attempts to register IE as legal persons.
Aliaksandr Boika, the main specialist of the department of the Uniform State Register of Legal Persons and Individual Entrepreneurs at the Ministry of Justice, said to “BDG” , that as of 1 November only 12.5 thousands of IEs have appealed to approve the business names and to re-register to Private Unitary Enterprises according to the President’s Decree ¹ 302. On evidence derived from the Economy Ministry, as of 1 October 2007, 204 thousands of IEs were registered.
At the same time, the expert think, no more than 8 per cent of the individual entrepreneurs will re-register themselves as legal persons. The Belarusian Union of Entrepreneurs estimates their amount at 5.5 per cent of the now existing number of entrepreneurs.
On evidence of A. Zmitrovich, member of working group at the Economy Ministry, about 94 per cent of IEs won’t became legal persons by no circumstances and 6 per cent of IEs, re-registered to Private Unitary Enterprises can reach break-even point within a year because of unprofitable business conditions.
