Lukashenka’s ideologist will have closed trial

The hearing of a criminal case against Uladzimer Kholad was scheduled by the collegiate organ for criminal cases at the Supreme Court for 19 November. Uladzimer Kholad is a former First Deputy Head of the Ideology Department at the President’s Administration - Head of the Department on Coordination of Ideology Work.
The trial will be closed, BelaPAN reports.
The criminal case was investigated by the Main Department of Preliminary investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It was sent to the Supreme Court 25 September.
It should be reminded that the former high-ranking official is accused of instigation to give a big bribe, attempt of obtaining property by large-scale fraud and repetitive large-scale fraud.
U. Kholad was detained by militia 30 June 2007. The accusation was presented 9 July.
By the president’s decree, Uladzimer Kholad was relieved of the post of a member of the Central Committee of the Republic of Belarus on Election and Organizing Republican Referendums. He had worked on that post since 26 December 2006.
