Deputy Economy Minister: “There won’t be mass sales of public property to Russians” 7

14:42, — Politics

Russia’s decision to grant Belarus a $1.5 billion stabilization loan is not subject to Russians’ claims to Belarusian public property, told at a press-conference in Minsk a deputy economy minister of Belarus Aleh Melnikau who is in charge of privatization issues.

“Large-scale, massive sales of property to Russian investors are not expected,” the official stressed.

As said by the deputy minister, the government does not plan to sell Russians one of the two Belarusian oil refineries Naftan.

But the official sounded rather uncertain. “A concrete decision hasn’t been adopted yet,” A. Melnikau quoted by Interfax as saying.
