Alyaksandr Lukashenka doesn’t exclude private investments in the construction of nuclear station, including those from abroad, are possible.
“We don’t exclude investments, even private ones. We are ready to conduct negotiations with international institutions and private persons – rich people,” A. Lukashenka said in the interview to Spanish newspaper El Pais, the First National TV channel reports.
He confirmed that the open tender on construction of the nuclear power station in Belarus will be organised. He also reminded that there are three main concerns of nuclear station construction – Franco–German concern, US–Japanese and Russian ones.
A. Lukashenka emphasised that Belarus has no more hesitations on construction nuclear stations. “We have a decisive argument: our country is enclosed by tens of nuclear plants, including old ones, similar to the Chernobyl Nuclear station”. At the same time Lukashenka stressed that a plant, which is planned to be constructed in Belarus, will be supermodern. “The whole Europe will construct tens of blocs, Japan, Russia will construct blocs, are they fools?” he noted.
