Mahilou democrats suggested authorities round-table discussion

Mahilou democrats are going to discuss with Mahilou town executive committee the proposals made by the EU for establishing the relations with official Minsk. The request to town executive committee chairman Victar Shorykau with the proposal to have a round-table discussion was sent to the Ideological Work Department 20 September.

Mahilou democrats explain their initiative by the necessity of informing the society about the EU proposals. Among the participants of the round-table discussion the initiators want to see the representatives from the opposition, the local authorities and the mass media.

The people should know that Europe is not an enemy and that Belarus has no other alternative except establishing relations with Europe, Ryhor Kastusiou, one of the initiators, head of the BNF Party regional organization, reported to “Radio Svaboda”.

Besides him, the request signed Aliaksandr Aheeu, deputy of Mahilou City Deputy Council, and Piotar Mihurski, public activist, Candidate of Economic Sciences.

The resolution on the request of democratic society to the town executive committee was signed yesterday on public activists meeting. The document is called “Belarusian economy and industry under conditions of increasing of energy prices. Establishing relations between Belarus, the EU members and Russia”.
