Justice Ministry Decided to Liquidate Association of Entrepreneurs

11

Justice Ministry has decided to revoke the statement of claim on liquidation of the Republican public Association “Perspektiva”.

The report reads that the Ministry has received an address of “Perspektiva” in which it informed that “it has informed that the steering bodies of the organization hadn’t adopted a decision that their leader should take part in the unsanctioned meeting”, and “he hadn’t been vested with authority to represent the public association and take part in any mass events,” BelaPAN informs.

The Ministry informs that in line with the statute of the organization its objectives are: “creation of conditions aimed at development of enterprise in Belarus, and also assistance to drawing the governing bodies in solving emerging problems”. “Considering the abovementioned facts, Justice Ministry has adopted a decision to revoke from the Supreme Court the statement of claim on liquidation of this public association,” the Ministry report stresses.

A deputy chairman of the council of the public association Perspektiva Volha Krumina has informed that their address was sent to Justice Ministry on January 17. It was stated there that the leader of the organization took part in the protest rally of entrepreneurs as a “private individual person”.

The information that Justice Ministry had filed a suit to the Supreme Court to liquidate Perspektiva appeared at the web page of the ministry on January 12. This decision of Justice Ministry has been explained by Part 2 Article 15 of the Law “On Mass Events”. According to it, “public associations which persons in charge hadn’t secured due order of organizing and holding meetings, street rallies, demonstration and picketing, which followed in infliction of large damage or damage to rights and legal interests of citizens, organizations or state and public interests, can be liquidated in the procedure prescribed by law”.

Having learned about the suit of the Justice Ministry, members of “Perspektiva” announced their intention to create a political party uniting businessmen in case the organization would be liquidated. If the new party would not be registered, a variant to join one of oppositional parties was considered.

The leader of the association of entrepreneurs “Perspektiva” Anatol Shumchanka was detained on January 10 after the protest rally of small businessmen. On January 11 he was sentenced to 15 days of administrative arrest.
