12:22, — society

More than 400 citizens of two settlements protest against construction of a plant of toxic chemicals in Pukhavichy district.

On the initiative of dwellers of Druzhny and Svislach settlements, a meeting of the administration of the district with the head of the local vertical of power Yury Shapavalau took place. In the cinema “Yubilejny” in Svislach, there was barely room to move. People were standing between the rows and in the lobby. This shows how worried the citizens are by the issue, Bulletinonline writes.

Construction of liquid toxic chemicals and pesticides is planned near these two settlements. A Russian-Belarusian joint venture Avgust Bel has been founded. The plant is to be built in the place of Bor settlement situated there previously.
