Belarus to take Poland to court over border problems

9:50, — society

During a meeting with Foreign Minster Radoslaw Sikorski in Kiev yesterday, Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko announced that he expects "a rapid end to the Polish customs officials protest, which has paralyzed the Eastern border."

Meanwhile, the Belarussian Justice Ministry announced that its government will sue Poland in front of an international court for violating the 1992 transportation agreement, and has accused the European Union of not dealing with the problem. Furthermore, the Russian Transport Ministry warned that the traffic on Polish borders could cause an increase in the price of imported food, such as meat, cheese and fish. According to the Ministry, transportation companies may want to make up for losses incurred during problems on the border.
