For adherence to ideals of dictatorship

Alyaksandr Lukashenka awarded two the most odious members of propaganda front – Alyaksandr Zimouski and Yury Azaronak.

Alyaksandr Zimouski, chairman of the National State TV and Radio Company, was awarded the Order of Francysk Skaryna for preparation of national song contests of Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Yury Azaronak, deputy chairman of the National State TV and Radio Company, was awarded the title “Honoured art worker of the Republic of Belarus.”

Alyaksandr Lukashenka signed the correspondent decree on 31 December, 2007.

Zimouski and Azaronak are famous in Belarus for their odium. The head of Belarusian TV (BT) hosts pseudo-analytical propaganda programmes over many years, and deputy chairman Azaronak is famous for a series of documental films, dragging the opposition through the mud. Azaronak was filed a claim several times for lie and distortion of facts.

At the same time the participant and winner of the Eurovision was honoured only with commendation. Alyaksei Zhygalkovich was issued a commendation of the President of the Republic of Belarus for high performing skills and winning the Junior Eurovision Song Contest -2007 by order of head of state.

Among the people, who were honoured with commendation of president, are vocal teacher Volga Vronskaya, choreographer Alyaksandr Mezhenny, director and art director of the Youth Variety Theatre Vasil Rainchyk.
