Lukashenka’s speech in “parliament” is totals propaganda

Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s speech at the final joint session of the two houses of the illegitimate Belarusian “parliament” consisted of propaganda clichés and familiar threats against mythic enemies.

Enemies all around

Lukashenka began his speech with mentioning of “serious threats at the borders of the country and a tendency of dictation from the position of strength in the international relations”.

“A tendency of dictation from the position of strength has become vivid in the international relations; the fiercest conflicts have been provoked in different spots of the planet,” Lukashenka said.

The Belarusian ruler stated that “confrontation between some countries and, which is the most awful, between the nations, has been escalated”. “NATO military and political bloc has activated as if the planet was on the edge of war. New threats have come close to the frontiers of Belarus, and we cannot but take this factor in our policy into consideration,” the Belarusian ruler noted.

About global financial crisis

According to Lukashenka, depressive developments, accumulating in the world economy, have turned into the global financial crisis. “Energy price hike at first and then food shortage affected many countries. As a result, most states have faced an economic slump,” he noted.

According to him, in this situation, it was a very difficult for us to oppose to the hits of the world market, preserve high rates of social and economic development, secure our energy and food safety.

In Lukashenka’s view, the current financial crisis is rooted in corruption in the western echelons of power.

“The current financial crisis is rooted in great degree in the world corruption, affected the top echelons of power of the western countries,” A. Lukashenka said.

About attempts of “shattering” the situation in the country

Alyaksandr Lukashenka spoke about some “attempts of destructive forces, supported by foreign countries, to shatter the situation in the state”.

“Destructive forces with financial and organising foreign support tried to impose a dead-end way of developing on our people, shatter the hard-achieved political stability of the society. On examples of certain countries, they tries to turn the presidential elections and means of will expression into a mechanism of enforced change of power and strategic course of development,” Lukashenka said.

About disappearances of critics of the Belarusian regime

Alyaksandr Lukashenka said critics of social and economic development of Belarus “disappeared at all”.

“I’d like to emphasise that the number of critics of our regime not just decreased in the world, they have disappeared at all. Americans have come to this, too, against the background of the economic crisis,” he told.

Officials, who control financial flow, should be in prison

Lukashenka said that secrecy of deposits of Belarusian and foreign individuals and firms must be guaranteed.

“When one comes to our bank with cash, he is said to fill a declaration. We are not against money laundering prevention, but why should be the first?” the president wondered. He stressed in this connection that there was reached an unambiguous solution that the Belarusian banks won’t demand to fill in declarations. According to Lukashenka, a period of state’s interfering with regulation of financial flow is over.

Lukashenka emphasised that that law enforcement controlling agencies would be restricted in their rights to get information from banks. They won’t be able to require providing them with information about accounts of individuals and legal entities, the head of state emphasised. According to him, it will be very difficult to receive information about a bank’s client even if a criminal case is instigated.

Lukashenka also said some officials, who controlled financial flow, “must be in prison”. “People with heavy shoulder marks were engaged in corruption,” he noted. A. Lukashenka reminded that he had already spoken about corruption criminality among military officers a year ago, and promised to present new information by the end of the year.

All former MPs will be employed

Alyaksandr Lukashenka assured the outgoing members of the “parliament” that they would be employed in accordance with their qualification.

“What concerns the future of the MPs, this question is under control. It is being considering actively. Many of them have already been employed. The others will also get worthy jobs in accordance with their qualification,” Lukashenka said.

“To those MPs, who have already received new jobs, but feel unconformable in this position, I want to say ‘does your life end with it? Your life goes on’” A. Lukashenka said.

The Belarusian ruler said that “the new head of the Presidential Administration and Lukashenka’s representative in the parliament were given instructions to crate a data bank and watch how deputies of previous convocations had worked”. “We are ready to discuss any of your initiatives,” the Belarusian head of state noted.

Speaking about employment of the “MPs”, A. Lukashenka said that he would “take a volition action on many candidatures”.

“Some big officials forgot how they had been treated when they had been appointed to their posts,” the head of state said.
