Regime banned benefit concert of Young Front

Minsk city executive committee groundlessly prohibited holding benefit concert on Bangalore Square in the framework f the nation-wide campaign “Belarusian book to children!”

It is stated in the answer of Minsk city executive committee, that holding the event is prohibited “as the application does not correspond the demands of the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On mass events in the Republic of Belarus”. Specific reasons of the denial are not stated, which violates Belarusian laws.

The coordinator of the campaign “Belarusian books to the children!” Dzyanis Karnou believes that such steps by the official institutions vividly show that the regime is not going to make concessions, website of the Young Front informs.

“The prohibition of the benefit concert, with the help of which we wanted to help orphans, only because it is organized by the Young Front is disgusting. It is the indication of the so-called “changes” and liberalization” of our country,” he says.

As said by Dzyanis Karnou, activists of the campaign will continue trying to receive official permission for the benefit concert, which possibly would take place in a different format.
