Polatsk activists to have trial for white-red-white flag

Reports were drawn up against Polatsk youth activists for they unfurled a national white-red-white flag and an orange flag of the initiative “Young Belarus” in the city center.

The guys timed their street action to November 7, by this willing to support an anticommunist youth action in Minsk, Radio Svaboda reports.

Ales Krutkin said that Syarhei Martynyuk and he spent about two hours in a militia station.

The boys said they protested against the fact, the anniversary of the October take-over is still marked as a state holiday. Militiamen wrote down their explanations and set them free, but said they accused the youth activists of violation of public order. Krutkin and Martynyuk weren’t told a date of the trial, they wait for a summons now.

Major Ivan Krakhotka was responsible for the detention. He is one of the militiamen, who questioned local representatives of the pro-opposition youth about activity of the Young Front and the Young Belarus. It should be reminded that Dzyanis Khaberau, Zmitser Sakalou, minor Katsyaryna Zhohal and Karen Platonau have been questioned for the last week. Ales Krutkin doesn’t exclude militia is collecting materials for a criminal case against Polatsk activists.
