Ronald Pofalla: “Belarusian regime tramples human rights underfoot” 6

8:55, — Politics

The general secretary of the CDU Ronald Pofalla was fiercely critical about the situation with human rights in Belarus.

“At just a few hours flight from Germany, in Europe, a regime that tramples underfoot human rights still exists,” stated the general secretary of the CDU Ronald Pofalla.

In his statement in connection with the 60th anniversary of the UN declaration (December 10, 1948), Human Rights Day, the leader of German Christian Democrats underlined that “he personally would place a stake on Belarusian opposition”. Ronald Pofalla added that German Christian Democrats “won’t ever be satisfied” by existence of anti-Democratic regime on the European continent, Radio Svaboda informs.

The general secretary of the CDU has called upon the German and international community to apply best efforts to make every day Human Rights Day. He noted that its authenticity is not in celebration of this day, but in a concrete policy. As said by Pofalla, the CDU and its chairperson, German Chancellor Angela Merkel many times demonstrated that she is serious about respect to human rights.
