Entrepreneurs get ready for Freedom Day

9:41, — Politics

Individual entrepreneurs have created an organizational committee of celebration of Freedom day on March 25. As said by the leader of the campaign “For Free development of Entrepreneurship” Viktar Harbachou, the decision to create the organizing committee has been taken on February 18 after holding a meeting of small businessmen in Minsk.

Viktar Harbachou has informed that the organizing committee includes representatives of the campaign “For Free Development of Enterprise”, the Coordinating Committee of Entrepreneurs of Belarus, the organizing committee for creation of a trade union of small and medium business “Vmeste”. One of the representatives of the organizing committee of individual entrepreneurs will be delegized to the steering committee which has applied for holding a rally and a march in Minsk on March 25 to mark the 90th anniversary of the Belarusian People’s Republic proclamation.

“We have created a steering committee, as nobody knows our problems better then we do. The wave for defense of rights and interests of small businessmen shouldn’t fade away,” the leader of the entrepreneurs’ movement has underlined.

He noted that during celebration of Freedom Day individual entrepreneurs want to stress their problems once again. Market vendors will gather with the same slogans and demands as before: reversal of the part 1.1 of the Decree No.760, adoption of the law on small and medium business, end of persecution of activists of individual entrepreneurs’ movement, as well as granting time on air at one of the Belarusian TV channels for small businessmen and officials’ discussion.

As said by V. Harbachou, “with good consolidation and public awareness efforts one can suppose that about 10,000 market vendors can take part in the rally on March 25”.

As we have informed, an application to Minsk city executive committee for holding a rally and a march on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the BNR’s proclamation was submitted on February 6. the applicants are Lyavon Barscheuski, chairman of the Belarusian Popular Front party, Anatol Lyabedzka, head of the United Civil party, Alyaksandr Milinkevich, head of the “For Freedom” movement, and the chairman of the organizing committee for creation of the Belarusian Social Democratic party (Narodnaya Hramada) Mikola Statkevich.

The applicants plan that participants of the action will gather on Yakub Kolas Square at 6.00pm on 25 March, and move along Independence Avenue, up to Valadarski and Haradzki Val Streets to the monument to Maksim Bahdanovich near the Opera Theatre. The march will end with a meeting in Yanka Kupala Park. The organisers will lay flowers to monuments to Yakub Kolas, Yanka Kupala, Adam Mitskevich, and Maksim Bahdanovich on the way.
