Question on Alyaksandr Kazulin’s release to be considered in UN

“Belarusian authorities have all possibilities to release political prisoners,” said Ihar Rynkevich, former lawyer of Alyaksandr Kazulin, former candidate for presidency, leader of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada).
According to Rynkevich, 22 months have passed since A. Kazulin was arrested. “We understand the decision on release of such prisoners is taken on the highest level. But nevertheless releases of Dashkevich and Finkevich hold out hope for Kazulin’s release. He has already served a third part of his term. It gives grounds to commute his punishment to an easier one, for instance, correctional labour. In this case a person is at large in fact,” I. Rynkevich said.
As the lawyer said, A. Kazulin’s defence continues to insist on his innocence. In the nearest time colleagues of the leader of the Social Democratic Party are going to address to the UN with a request to consider a question on release of Alyaksandr Kazulin, BelaPAN reports.
