Belarusian TV gives its footage of protest rallies to KGB

“Fabricated photos and blurred video footage of low quality are the only proofs in the criminal cases initiated against participants of the protest rally on January 10,” stated the activist of the Young Front Uladzimir Syarheeu, charged with organizing mass riot during a protest rally on January 10.
Today Uladzimir Syarheeu read the files of the case for the first time. “I assure you that our case had been falsified totally,” Uladzimir said in an interview to the Young Front. “Photos and video footage, the only evidence, does not correspond to reality. Shots are at variance. The place, time and date are the same there, while faces of people are different, which is impossible. People could be identified only by elements of clothes at the video recording, which cannot be good evidence. It is worth mentioning that the investigation department of Minsk city executive committee addressed to some Belarusian TV Channels with a request to give their video footage. And in the answer signed by the head of the Belarusian TV Zimouski it is stated that it is impossible as the recording has been submitted to the KGB”.
Uladzimir told that some enterprises and institutions have made claims against them for more than 120 million rubles. “The investigation department addressed numerous enterprises to which we had allegedly caused damage, with a proposal to sue us. But at the moment only Minsktrans and the City department store demand us to pay compensation for the total sum of 124.7 mln rubles”.
As we have informed, at the moment 14 youth activists are charged with organising mass riot on January 10. A youth leader Andrei Kim and an entrepreneur Syarhei Parsyukevich are placed to the detention center in Valadarski Street. Both of them have been presented official charges under article 364 (“violence or threats of violence against a policemen”) and face up to 6 years of imprisonement.
