Belarus’ foreign debt grown almost twofold

Joint foreign debt of Belarus for January 1, 2008 was $12.719 billion dollars. It has grown by 87.4% ($5.932 billion) over 2007, the statistic report of the National bank of Belarus informs.
Over the period of the 4th quarter the foreign debt has grown by 33.1% after a growth of 3.8% in the 3Q, by 15.9% over the period of 2Q and by 17% in 1Q.
Indebtedness of bodies of state administration in the structure of the joint foreign debt has grown 3.5 times over the year ($2.036 billion), As compared to $0.7 million as of January 1, 2007.
The foreign debt of the National Bank of January 1, 2008 was $590.9 million (including a long-term debt of $240 million). The share of long-term foreign loans decreased from 48.5% to 42.2%.
The foreign loan of non-financial sectors of the economy increased by 59.5% (and makes $6.965 billion). The share of long-term loans decreased to 18.8% (as compared to 19.3% in 2006).
Indebtedness to direct investors in 2007 has grown by 63% ($556.4 mln).
