Participants of the demonstration on 25 March in Minsk told to the Charter’97 press center terrible details of beating people by riot militiamen.
Activist of the civil campaign “European Belarus” Illya Suhaka was a witness of how Young Front activist Yaraslau Hryshchanka was detained. “He was caught near the Palace of Arts. They grabbed him to a bus, he had cracked head and was semi-conscious,” Illya tells.
Youth activist Palina Kuryanovich saw how “European Belarus” activist Mikita Shutsyankou was beaten. According to her, he had broken cartilage of ear, blood was gushing.

“When riot militiamen forcing Yauhen Afnahel into a paddy wagon, blood was gushing from his mouth,” Palina Kuryanovich said.
