16:43, — Politics

Ukrainian Consul to Belarus Vasil Serdega said to the Charter’97 press center Ukrainian citizen Yury Biryuk, detained at the demonstration yesterday in Minsk, was set free after identity check. The consulate learnt it from the law enforcement bodies.

The information a Ukrainian was fined is wrong. The court of the Maskouski District fined Belarusian citizen Yury Barok of 30 basic units. A mess was caused by similarity of the surnames.

“It was very hard, in fact impossible to get information. We had to attend all courts of Minsk searching for our citizen,” the consul noted in the interview to the Charter’97 press center.
