Ebert Foundation forced to close in Belarus 1

17:27, — Politics

Friedrich Ebert Foundation is forced to start the process of closing its office in Belarus. It has been started by the head of the regional representation of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Ukraine and Belarus Stefan Chrobot.

Stefan Chrobot finds the fact of liquidation of the office to be “deplorable for Belarus”, as, according to him, “in the recent months the only political foundation left in the country has offered new ideas and concepts of dialogue and cooperation between Germany, Ukraine and Belarus”. However, the changed conditions in Belarus and moves of the official side have made the necessity to close the office unavoidable,” he said.
