A judgment has been delivered in the administrative case of the young activist Lyudvisya Atakulava, who was detained yesterday in Polatsk, after the court over the Young Front activist Kasya Salauyova. The girl was fined 35 basic units (1 mln 225 thousand rubles).
Lyudvisya was detained yesterday evening when she was leaving Polatsk in a car. In the night the girl stayed in the pre-trial detention center. She was presented charges relating Article 23.34 of the Administrative Code (violation of the order of organising or holding a mass even or picketing). During the court young people staged a picket showing their solidarity with Kasya Salauyova.
As Belarusian politicians and human rights activists believe, fines to which oppositionists are sentenced would be used for paying for services of the British spin doctor Timothy Bell. The Belarusian regime has signed an agreement with him for improving the image of Lukashenka’s regime in the world.
