Lukashenka: “We have complete identity of views with Iran” 19

11:25, — Politics

Alyaksandr Lukashenka states that there are no obstacles for development of trade and economic relations with Iran, and notes identity of views of the two states for the necessity to build a multi-polar world.

“I am very attentive to lines of cooperation with our friends from Iran. We do not have any problems in political and diplomatic spheres, we note identity of views on world order, and we stand for a multi-polar world,” A. Lukashenka said at the meeting with Iranian Minister of Industry and Mines Ali-Akbar Mehrabian in Minsk.

“We have no reticence or problems in relations with Iran. The main foundation of them is trade and economic cooperation,” the Belarusian leader noted. As said by A. Lukashenka, “last year our trade and economic relations have grown many times. But 80 mln dollars of trade turnover is a ridiculous figure, as we have significant opportunities”. “We are ready for these volumes to reach a global scale. Our states need that, and we are ready to reach a billion and more,” Lukashenka said.

During the meeting the Iranian minister passed “warmest wishes from Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and Iranian people”. “The government, and especially Iranian president, place special emphasis on cooperation with Belarus. Mr. Ahmadinejad always reminds that we should develop most serious relations with such states as Belarus,” Ali-Akbar Mehrabian noted.

“My visit to Belarus is made on direct instruction of Iranian President,” the Minister said, handing Lukashenka a letter from Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
