Organisers flubbed first national airshow

First Belarusian national airshow Minsk Aero 2008, scheduled for 3-6 July on the territory of Stalin’s Line museum complex.

A “parade of generations” will take place there instead. BelTA learnt it from Alyaksandr Myatla, director of Memory of Afghan charity foundation. According to him, the foundation acted as one of the show organisers, but later broke with SolMediaGran due to unsatisfactory show management.

Alyaksandr Myatla told ZAO SolMediaGran issued 250,000 tickets and plans 80,000 people at once will attend Stalin’s Line. He says Stalin’s Line can’t place more than 10,000 people at a time, even if occasional seats are installed.

Besides, there are no conditions for balloons flights on the territory of the complex.

Moreover, organisers of Minsk Aero 2008 have no arrangements with the participants of the show, including Strizhi and Russkie Vityazi Aerobatic Team.

“It was planned that Leanid Yakubovich, who will fly by his private plane, will host the show. It was supposed that Russian singers Lev Leshchenko and Iosif Kobzon will perform. But we have nothing. There is no programme, we have been advertising for some months,” Myatla said.

A “parade of generations” will be organised at Minsk Aero 2008 instead, where soldiers will march dressed in uniforms of 1917 till present days.

Memory of Afghan foundation doesn’t apparently know about existence of uniform before 1917, though Belarus has 1000 years of military history, beginning with the battle of Nyamiha River in 1067, the fact well known to any schoolchild from a history book.
