A protest rally against another school reform has taken place near several schools in Minsk.
School children wrote “We are against school reform” in chalk in front of their alma maters. After that young people left their signatures and indicated their forms, the website jeans-by.com informs.
As we have informed, the decision to return to 11-years school education and axe of specialized classes was adopted by Alyaksandr Lukashenka at a council on June 5.
A delegate of the “chamber of representatives”, the head of the Education, Culture and Scientific progress commission Uladzimir Zdanovich expressed his sharp criticism of the idea. He called the attempt to introduce a school programme common for all schools and substitution of normal classes by facultative optional classes “a real subversive action”. As said by him, return to the 11-year secondary education means a return to a “cave-dweller century”.
