Lukashenka and Yushchenko can meet in Chernihiv

4

On Friday, June 27 Alyaksandr Lukashenka and Viktor Yushchenko can have a meeting. European Radio for Belarus has been informed about that by an analyst and reviewer Raman Yakauleuski who referred to “Kyiv sources”.

A week ago a deputy minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Konstantin Eliseev visited Minsk. He was accepted by the first deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Ihar Petryshenka. The meeting wasn’t made public.

“As certain sources from Kyiv inform, at the meeting an agreement on the meeting of the presidents of the two countries in Chernihiv had been reached. At the meeting it is planned to reach an agreement on two old issues: a question of ratification by the Belarusian parliament of the agreement on the national border between the two countries, and the question of the so-called “Ukrainian debt”. The Belarusian “parliament” will ratify the agreement in case this debt would be acknowledged and paid. The meeting has become possible as the sides have agreed that Ukraine could probably pay the debt which is not recognized by it, in electric supplies,” Yakauleuski maintains.

As said by Yakauleuski, the sides can discuss the issue of Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s participation in the energy security summit, which is to take place in Baku this November.
