10:50, — Politics

The Lininski district court of Brest fined Ivan Stasyuk, activist of the “European Belarus” civil campaign, of 70,000 rubles.

Human rights activist Uladzimir Vyalichkin said to Radio Svaboda that Ivan Stasyuk has handed out leaflets calling for Belarus’s joining the European Union last week.

“Militiamen watched the young man and detained him brutally: they twisted his arms and pushed him into a car,” Uladzimir Vyalichkin noted. The activist was kept in a militia department till morning, then he was guarded to court,” the activist said.

It should be reminded that “European Belarus” activists were detained in Hrodna on 28 June. They were seized the signatures for Belarus’s joining the European Union.
