Veterans interrogated in blast case: “I haven’t faced such humiliation from the times of death camp”

In Homel region policemen checked elderly members of oppositional parties’ implication in the blast in Minsk.

In Mozyr policemen interrogated the former minor prisoner of a Nazi camp, a member of the Belarusian Communist party Uladzimer Zhogla was interrogated, and his saliva test taken.

The 71-year-old Communist was summoned to the criminal investigation department of Mozyr police as a applicant for holding a picket against repeal of benefits. But he was not interrogated about the picket, but about his whereabouts on July 3.

“I answered that I was in my summer cottage in the village of Matrunki. After that a doctor took from beneath my both cheeks a saliva test with cotton wool tampons. And when my mug shot was taken under some number, I couldn’t stand it any more. Tears started rolling. I haven’t faced such a humiliation since the time in the death camp,” Zhogla told to Radio Svaboda.

Members of the Belarusian Communist party, pensioners Yury Bokau and Yauhen Brusnitsyn from Mozyr were taken saliva test as well.

In Rechytsa about 10 elderly oppositional Communists were checked, including 85-year-old war veteran Barys Salanets.

It has been informed by the head of the regional organisation Uladzimir Shein. He was also interrogated about where spent July 3 and 4.
