“Komsomolskaya Pravda”: Berezovsky visits Lukashenka from time to time 1

8:41, — Politics

Disgraced oligarch Boris Berezovsky has visited Belarus two times for the last month, “Komsomolskaya Pravda” newspaper writes.

Brother of the imprisoned US citizen Emanuel Zeltser stated this, the edition notes. An imprisoned American is a famous lawyer, partner of late Georgian oppositionist Patarkatsishvili and former colleague of disgraced Russian oligarch Berezovsky, came to Belarus at the end of winter.

As soon as he left a plane (Berezovsky says in British press the plane belonged to him), he was arrested by the Belarusian KGB. He has been in prison since that time.

On 11 August, Zeltser was found guilty of industrial espionage and got three years in prison.

The trial was held behind the closed doors, a judgement was read without presence of press.

However, the information leaked. The rumours say Boris Berezovsky visits Minsk more often due to Emanuel Zeltser. The oligarch was a witness at the trial, and even visited the prisoner in jail.

– Berezovsky personally visited him in jail ten days ago. He demanded that my brother take away his evidence and confess his guilt, – Radio Svaboda quotes prisoner’s brother Mark Zeltser.

According to Zeltser’s brother, Berezovsky was a witness at the trial. He came for that purpose in early August.

Zeltser’s case is a secret in Belarus. The Ministry of Internal Affaires, the KGB or the court, where the trial was held, neither confirm nor deny the information about Berezovsky’s visit. If Berezovsky’s visit is confirmed officially, the Belarusian law enforcement bodies will have to account to the allies – Berezovsky is pout on Russian wanted list, “Komsomolskaya Pravda” writes.
