Belarusians declare boycott to electoral farce (Photo)

In the run-up to the so-called “parliamentary elections” actions under “Boycott!” title are held all over Belarus.
Another rally urging to boycott the vote was held in Vitsebsk. Activists of youth organisations held it in different places in the centre of the city. Young people have written the words “Boycott” at the busiest spots of Vitsebsk. Besides, more and more stickers “Boycott” are appearing in Vitsebsk.
In autumn 2008 the “parliamentary election” is to be held in Belarus. In connection with the intensified political repressions in Belarus, the regime’s disinclination to liberalize the electoral code, and as long as international organisations called all elections and referenda in Belarus since 1996 undemocratic and not free, many Belarusians are set to boycott the election to the so-called parliament.
