Demand for dollars exceeds supply 15.7 times

Demand for US currency is growing in Belarus at a fantastic rate.
As we have informed, following the results of trading at the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange, the exchange rate of the US dollar has exceeded the all-time record and reached 2,752 rubels. As compared to yesterday’s exchange rate, US dollar against the Belarusian ruble has grown by 30 rubles, or by 1.1%
According to the BCSE, on January 30, 26 banks have taken part in trading in the US dollar. The volume of transactions was 47 mln 856 thousand (demand was 49 mln 923 thousand, supply 3 mln 179 thousand). Thus, demand for the US currency has exceeded supply by 15.7 times, BelaPAN informs.
24 banks have taken part in trading in the Russian ruble. The volume of transactions was equal to 447 mln 517 thousand (demand – 447 mln 517 thousand, supply – 448 mln 335 thousand), and the exchange rate fell by 0.77 ruble and made 77.71 Belarusian rubles per one Russian ruble.
26 banks have taken part in trading in Euro. The volume of transactions was 13 mln 52 thousand (demand – 10 mln 836 thousand, supply – 13 mln 52 thousand), and the exchange rate fell by 6 ruble and reached 3,548 Belarusian rubles per one Euro.
