Belarusian authorities call Libya “key partner” in Arab World

Belarusian officials say this is due to the warm relations between the leadership of the countries.

Belarus lays great weight to development of bilateral friendly ties with Libya, chairman of the “house of representatives” Uladzimir Andreichanka said today at a meeting with Libyan minister of health and environment Mohammad Hijazi in Minsk, BelaPAN reports.

“The warm relations between the leadership of our countries bind us to this,” Andreichanka said.

The speaker of the parliament lower house noted Belarus regarded Libya as a key partner in the Arab World in political, trade and economic cooperation. “We have similar or common position on many crucial problems, considered by international organizations,” he stressed.

The chairman of the “house of representatives” also said Belarus turned much attention to development of inter-governmental ties with Libya. Andreichanka invited the leaders of the Libyan parliament to pay an official visit to Belarus.

Mohammad Hijazi noted the delegation would like to start a new phase of the cooperation between the two countries.

According to him, both sides have a desire to develop cooperation for the benefit of the two countries. “We have many areas for mutually advantageous cooperation,” he emphasized.
