Minsk city court has examined complaints of activists of the civil campaign “European Belarus” against the ruling of the court of the first instance.

The ruling of the court of Pershamajski district of Minsk, according to which activists Aleh Ladutska, Halina Pyarvushyna and Nasta Askerka were sentenced to huge fines for hanging up white-red-white flags, was challenged by lawyer Paval Sapelka, “European Belarus” website reminds.

Despite of gross violations and contradictions in testimony of policemen, judges Usik, Kamarouskaya and Nazaranka upheld the verdicts.

We remind that Aleh Ladutska, Halina Pyarvushyna and Nasta Askerka were detained on October 29 for placing national flags in Independence Avenue. Reports were drawn up against all the young people for alleged foul speech used against policemen. They were taken to a jail in Akrestsin Street. On October 30 the Pershamaiski district court sentenced Pyarvushyna and Askerka 15 basic units (252,000 rubles), Aleh Ladutska to 30 basic units (1,050,000 BYR), as his words were especially cynical, according to policemen.

On October 29 “European Belarus” civil campaign held a rally during which 100 national flags were hanged up I Independence Avenue.
