Anatol Lyabedzka: “Rigoni is lobbying Belarusian swindlers’ interests”

The chairman of the United Civil Party has commented on the report of the PACE Rapporteur on Belarus Andrea Rigoni in which he offered to return the Special Guest status for Minsk.

Anatol Lyabedzka has stated that “Andrea Rigoni is lobbying interests of Belarusian swindlers and falsifiers”.

“And it happens though Minsk hasn’t eliminated a single cause for which this status had been frozen. Statements that with no progress the status would to be frozen again in a year, cause nothing but a smile”, Anatol Lyabedzka noted.

“The objective of Andrea Rigoni’s visit to Minsk is to ease the situation involving the return of the Special Guest status in the PACE for deputies of the “chamber of representatives” appointed by the president,” the website ucpb.org quotes the politician as saying.

“The situation is ambiguous. The practice has shown that Mister Rigoni easily gives in to charms and magnetism of Belarusian authorities, and consequently, changes his position as often as a lady changes her gloves,” Anatol Lyabedzka is convinced.

As said by the politician, to restore the Special Guest status for Belarus “for appointed deputies without any “homework” for the Belarusian authorities is a political scandal”.

The PACE Rapporteur on Belarus Andrea Rigoni is to visit Belarus on an official visit on June 7-9.
