Venezuelan Ambassador: We want to expand military cooperation with Belarus

Venezuela is interested in buying military equipment from Belarus, stated Venezuelan Ambassador to Belarus Americo Diaz Nunez.

The diplomat underlined that “Venezuela is interested in buying military equipment exclusively with the aims of defence”, Interfax informs.

“Plans and customs of Venezuela do not include aggressing against anyone,” the Venezuelan Ambassador noted.

Only once in history Venezuelan troops crossed their border, stated Americo Diaz Nunez, meaning liberation of the South America in the first half of the 19th century under Simon Bolivar command.

Besides, the Ambassdor informed that the authorities of the country had decided to advance creation of joint ventures with Belarus.

“Having overcome the stage of certain difficulties, economic and cadres transformations, conditions for restarting joint work on creation of factories for manufacturing passenger and freight transportation in the state of Barinas basing upon such enterprises as MAZ, BelAZ and MTZ,” Venezuelan Ambassador said.

As said by him, creation of the Belarusian-Venezuelan joint venture with participation of “Horizon” company is being, as well as implementing projects in the sphere of construction, under which about 2.5 thousand flats are to be built in the state of Aragua. Besides, construction in the capital of Venezuela Caracas is considered.

“Implementation of these huge plans is to depend on stabilization of the oil price. We shouldn’t forget that during the crisis one have to reconsider plans concerning realization of complex and costly objects,” Americo Diaz Nunez. noted.
