Lukashenka: “I studied many things in policy of Germany”

64

The Belarusian dictator confessed he would be able to tell everything about German politicians if “awaken up in the middle of the night”.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka said yesterday during his meeting with former foreign minister of Germany Hans-Dietrich Genscher:

“Since I was about 20 years old I have been dealing with political issues. I’ve studied a lot in politics, especially in the policy of Germany because it formed the architecture in Europe and in the whole world. I could not but focus on you as an architect of this policy. If 30 years ago I was asked in the middle of the night what kind of man Hans-Dietrich Genscher is, I would have immediately named his position and characterized his entire political career,” Lukashenka added.

Hans-Dietrich Genscher probably doesn’t know that in 1995 the Belarusian dictator in an interview to Handelsblatt expressed his admiration for another German politician – Adolf Hitler:

“Germany was raised from ruins thanks to firm authority of well-known figure Hitler... German order evolved over the centuries and attained its peak under Hitler. This is perfectly in line with our understanding of a presidential republic and of the role of its president... Hitler formed Germany due to the strong presidential power... Germany rose thanks to this strong force, thanks to the fact that the whole nation united around its leader... The head of state is the president, his influence, his leading role is the main thing... The History of Germany teaches us this,” Lukashenka said.
