Belarusian dictator has “similar positions” with Iranian one

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has met with Head of the Presidential Office of Ahmadinejad and passed “the warmest words of gratitude” to the Iranian dictator.

During the meeting with Head of the Presidential Office of Iran Esfandiar Rahim-Mashaei the Belarusian leader stated that the positions of the two countries on key international problems are similar, Interfax informs.

“The cooperation potential of our countries is enormous, but it is used in a minimum degree,” Alyaksandr Lukashenka said.

Speaking about the position of the two states on the relevant issues of international agenda, the Belarusian ruler said that “they are close and similar to the friendly Iran’s”.

Lukashenka assured that “special thing about this visit is that it is well-timed”. He expressed certainty that during this visit the sides would be able “to discuss all the problems without diplomatic embellishments”, and “the most complicated issues in the economy and trade and economic cooperation would be resolved”.

Lukashenka stated that he is interested in “learning about the situation in Iran, the major challenges the country is facing now first hand.” Alyaksandr Lukashenka asked Rahim-Mashaei to convey the warmest words of gratitude” to Ahmadinejad.

In his turn Head of the Presidential Office of Ahmadinejad noted that “our relations are very good relations”. “Our countries are in the same conditions, they pursue the same goals to expand the bilateral cooperation and remain free and independent at the same time”.

As said by him, “today Belarus and Iran are globally recognized for fighting for their independence and honoring their commitments, not changing them”. “Mister Ahmadinejad strongly insists on independence of the country and outside pressure is brought on him for that,” said Head of the Presidential Office of Iran.

He passed “greetings and words of thankfulness form Minster President”. “President Ahmadinejad has good personal relations with you, he pronounces your name as a name of his friend,” Rahim-Mashaei said.

As charter97.org website informed, the Iranian dictator is known for his cruel crackdown on opposition rallies and a public execution of opposition activists.

On January 28 in Iran 2 oppositionists out of 11 sentenced to death penalty were hung. They arrested during the presidential unrest in June 2009. Then opposition refused to recognize electoral victory of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. They stages protest rallies with a demand to reconsider the results of the vote.

At least 5 more participants of June’s opposition protests face execution. Then according to official reports 7 persons died in the protest in Tehran, about 500 opposition supporters were detained by police.
