40 long-term observers of the OSCE mission to start work in Belarus.

The OSCE mission is to start long-term observation over the presidential election in Belarus since mid November, BelTA was told by the secretary of the Central Election Commission Mikalai Lazavik.

“The OSCE mission has informed Belarus that in mid November 40 long-term observers are to start work in our country,” the representative of the Central Election Commission said.

He added that on the Voting Day December 19 the OSCE plans to send to Belarus about 400 international observers.

The early observation of the OSCE representatives will include studying the social and political situation in the country, the electoral legislation and practice of its use, monitoring of covering the campaign by mass media, control over holding the agitation campaign.
