Saakashvili sends special team to recognize Belarusian election

Presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov and his agent Zmitser Bandarenka met with Georgian observers.

Georgia organized a special mission to observe the Belarusian presidential elections. Not being a member state of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the country has several representatives in the OSCE observation mission. Moreover, some 50 people will represent Georgia itself, the website European Belarus informs.

“We told about conditions of the election campaign and violations during the campaign. We said people were made to vote early, contract system was used to press on democratic activists in the regions. We note that Sannikov’s team had had a very difficult start of the campaign: our friend Aleh Byabenin, one of the team’s leaders, had died.

I can state for sure: judging by their questions and reaction to our words, these people came to declare the election democratic. Saakashvili sent this special team to support dictator Lukashenka. But it’s impossible to save a political corpse,” Zmitser Bandarenka told about the meeting.
