Videoproof: Students are forced to vote

122

The students of Minsk Technological College sent out a video recording of being forced to pre-schedule voting.

«Good day! Minsk State Technological College is also involved in forcing the pre-schedule voting. In a week before the pre-schedule voting started the group curators had informed the students residing in dormitories that they are to vote ahead of schedule on the 18th of December but later it turned out that it should be done even earlier.

On the 14th of December they managed to record a video of a curator forcing students to take part in the pre-schedule voting on the same day after classes. On the next day a video record was also made of a curator checking those who had already voted in the lists. 18 students living in dormitories turned out to be on the list. Minsk-resident students have nothing to be intimidated with so their surnames weren't on the list», - says the letter sent to the charter97.org website's address.

As the quality of audio record made with a cell-phone in a noisy classroom isn't very good the record's author added a script of the talk below.

The record from 14.12.2010:

«Curator: I remind once again. Have you taken the passports with you today?

Students: Yes.

Curator: Today you will come to me after classes. Your classes finish at...

Students: At 5:20 pm.

Curator: Here, I was given the list, there are 18 persons. Tomorrow I will come to your classes again and check those who have already voted.

Students: We still have a lot of time till Saturday, we can vote at any time.

Curator: The earlier, the better.

Students: Is it also prescribed who we must vote for?

Curator: No. You can vote for whoever you like and please don't use that tone to me.

Students: No, but...

Curator: They demand these lists from me. Every time I come and you are outraged! What is going on?!

Students: No, really, we have time till Saturday.

Curator: You have to vote earlier.

A student: Why do we have to?! What do we have to do? The election is on the 19th.

Other students: Not you, only those residing in the dormitories.

Curator: I will not go through this with you again. I will come today and tomorrow. I have come today and will tomorrow... That's it! Then you will vote on your own and explain yourselves n your own what you can and can't, is it clear?! That's it! I have said everything! Is everything clear? Good! I just don't understand what's this about?! Am I taking you there by the hand? Or am I going into the booth with you and pointing where you should put the mark? Have you come to study? So go on and study!»
