USA and Poland called upon free elections in Belarus

Presidents of the United Sates and Poland called upon free and fair elections in Belarus.

This is expressed in the joint statement of Barack Obama and Bronislaw Komorowski, made on December, 8 in Washington as a result of the negotiations between the heads of the states and published on the website of the Polish president, PelaPAN reports.

“Poland and the United States call upon free and fair presidential elections in Belarus on December, 19, the statement reads. – President Komorowski and president Obama stressed their full support for the EU initiative “Eastern Partnership”, aimed at strengthening ties between the European Union and Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, as well as promoting reforms and strengthening democracy in these countries.”

Moreover, the USA and Poland declared their support for consistent policy of strengthening ties with Russia.
