In Homel vice-rectors attacked an agitator

According to representatives of the university, the activist campaigned for Nyaklyaeu “improperly”.

An agitator from Homel Yauhen Yakavenka was handing out campaign materials of Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu at the crossing of Karpovich and Chyrvonaarmejskaya Streets, which is situated not far from the Belarusian State University of Transport, Radio Svaboda informs.

“Two vice-rectors, Kanstantsin Bachkou and Halina Chaenkova, came up to me. They started to make comments about my agitating in the wrong way. A vice-rector seized my hand and started dragging me into the university building by force. And there they attacked me together. Students were standing there, and the students were ordered to hold me. I demanded to call in police, if they believe I had been violating some rules,” Yauhen Yakavenka said.

Policemen arrived to the university, as well as Valery Slyapukhin, an electioneering agent of the presidential candidate Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu.

Yauhen Yakavenka wrote a police statement against Professor Kanstantsin Bachkou, who had been holding him by force.

“I even asked policemen: should I have hit the vice-rector in the ear as self-protection? But policemen didn’t approve that,” the oppositionist said.

It is the second incident near the Transport University. A few weeks ago the state guards of the university hindered Nyaklyaeu’s agitators from collecting signatures. Then policemen stepped in the situation as well.

By the way, Yauhen Yakavenka is a graduate of this university, he received a diploma as an electrical engineer there recently.
