During the visit to the Berlin Film Festival Belarusian journalists found amusing souvenirs.

"The Berlin International Film Festival is always more than cinema. Even a few months after, looking through picture archives and impressions, you can always find something interesting and remarkable... In one of the pauses between film screenings our international group roamed into the centre of the German capital, Mitte district, which is five minutes walk from Alexanderplatz. Walking with my camera around old yards with cafes and souvenir shops, we unexpectedly ran into an impressive shop window. Karl Marx, a neurotic Kafka, a riotous Elvis, a tender Marilyn... and our "legally elected". The parage of dummies honestly placed our ruler alphabetically, between Lenin and Lennon. I perked my finger into the glass, attracting attention of cinema people.

- Well, and they do not have our president here! - said Helmut, a programme director of horror films festival from Tallinn sadly.

- Oh, is he really so popular? - asked an Indian documentary filmmaker.

- Is it a caricature? - a film critic from South Korea laughs.

How could I answer to that? When you are turned into a marionette, is it a fame or genre's crisis? Most likely, both. Laughter cures fears and kills affectedness. A pocket Lennon is not a pop-idol, but a little character for amusement at home. A pocket president is a reason for quiet amusement of voters. For a few minutes when you are pulling strings, your dependance turns into power. A manageable Elvis. An obedient Lenin. A controllable Lukashenka," a journalist Maxim Zhbankou wrote in "Salidarnasts" newspaper.

The world waves its hands on your command. It is merry and harmless. If we cannot find understanding with the real character, we can at least dream about that. The price is fair: any dummy is sold at 7.90 Euro.
