Andrei Sannikov: Neither West nor Russia will work with Lukashenka

There are moments in history when things begin to move rapidly and seriously.

Belarus seems to be passing through such times. One needn’t to be a prophet to understand that the dictatorial regime of Lukashenka is collapsing. However hard the official propaganda may try to emblazon the advantages of the collapsed stability, however hard the :analysts” may try to convince people that the dictatorship has lots of ways to improve its position, their reasoning falls behind the reality and thus is of no interest. Behavior of Lukashenka himself provides more information than any analyze.

The number of threats to everyone in the world, including West and Russia, sounded during trips to fields in pursuit of harvest has never been so large. All Belarus’s neighbours give to understand clearly that it’s impossible to deal with Lukashenka. His attempts to find rescue of the regime in Venezuela, Syria, and Iran make Belarus’s traditional partners even more irritated and can lead to serious international problems.

This means the only thing: neither West nor Russia will deal with the current Belarusian ruler. Nobody has illusions any more.
